Dorothy Willetts Bio Currently based in the Coachella Valley with an A-list clientele, Interior Designer Dorothy Willetts, is known for her ability to transform concepts and site-specific challenges into beautiful, functional interiors. As a well-regarded industry expert and a Professional Member of ASID, Dorothy is sought out for her talent and diligent attention to detail. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Dorothy combines her East Coast background with her education and life experience from Chicago, and infuses her designs with a California sensibility. She earned a BA in Political Science and a BFA in Interior Architecture from the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago before becoming a protégée of the world-renowned Interior Designer, Bruce Gregga. Her passions run to art, animals, and travel and as a life-long learner, she uses her world travels as opportunities to immerse herself in each country’s culture, informing both her work and outlook. A core belief of Dorothy’s is that art is meant to be lived with, rather than kept behind glass. Whether it is in private homes overlooking some of American’s most breathtaking views, or developing her design project, “Living With Art” series, showcasing rooms designed around works that include Pablo Picasso and Alexander Calder, her stunning projects combine the sensual pleasures of fine art with sensible living.
